Job title: Vice President: Big Data & AI
Location: Gauteng / Cape Town (Remote & Hybrid Work setup)


We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the role of Vice President of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. This executive position is crucial for driving the strategic direction, development, and management of our big data and AI capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of data scientists, engineers, and AI specialists, and will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology roadmap, ensuring our data architecture and AI strategies align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of big data and AI initiatives to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Oversee the development and management of our big data infrastructure, ensuring robustness, scalability, and compliance with data privacy laws.
  • Champion the adoption of AI and machine learning models to enhance product and service offerings, improving customer insights and prediction accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in big data, and AI, and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption.
  • Develop and manage the planning and scoping for the big data and AI division, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effective solutions.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and with clients, articulating our client’s vision and capabilities in big data and AI.


  • Minimum a B.Eng in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or relevant degree.
  • Eng or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering Desired.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing big data and AI strategies.
  • Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), AI/machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
