Location: Centurion (Office-based)

Purpose of the Role:

The Full Stack Developer builds and maintains the web-based platforms and client-facing interfaces that form a core part of our client’s cybersecurity product suite.

As Full Stack Developer, you will work across the full development stack, from server-side PHP and Laravel APIs through to Vue.js frontend interfaces and operate in Linux-based deployment environments.

This role suits a developer with strong fundamentals, a security-aware mindset, and the drive to take ownership of features end-to-end in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Backend Development

  • Design, build, and maintain server-side applications and RESTful APIs using PHP and the Laravel framework.
  • Architect and optimise database schemas, queries, and data models across relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Implement authentication, authorisation, and security controls in line with application security best practices.
  • Integrate backend services with third-party APIs, internal microservices, and data pipelines.

Frontend Development

  • Build responsive, performant user interfaces using Vue.js, ensuring a consistent and intuitive user experience.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX stakeholders to translate design requirements into clean, maintainable frontend code.
  • Optimise frontend performance, state management, and component architecture across the Vue.js codebase.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to accessibility standards.

Linux & Deployment

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain applications in Linux-based server environments (Ubuntu, CentOS, or equivalent).
  • Work with Docker for containerised development and deployment workflows.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline configuration and support cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS or Azure.
  • Perform basic Linux system administration tasks relevant to application hosting and maintenance.

Engineering Standards & Collaboration

  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning within an agile delivery framework.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code with automated test coverage as standard practice.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, and product teams to ensure delivery quality and platform reliability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Relevant degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of professional full stack development experience in production environments.
  • Demonstrable hands-on proficiency with PHP and the Laravel framework. Portfolio or codebase evidence required.
  • Solid Vue.js frontend development experience including component architecture, Vuex/Pinia state management, and Vue Router.
  • Comfortable working in and deploying to Linux-based environments as a standard part of the development workflow.

Technical Skills

  • Strong PHP and Laravel skills: Eloquent ORM, middleware, queues, events, and API resource design.
  • Proficient in Vue.js 3 with Composition API; familiarity with modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack).
  • SQL database proficiency; schema design, query optimisation, and migration management.
  • Version control with Git, including branching strategies and collaborative pull request workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Linux command line, server configuration, and application deployment.

Advantageous

  • Exposure to cybersecurity platforms, security dashboards, or data-intensive web applications.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with application security concepts: OWASP Top 10, input validation, secure API design.
  • TypeScript or JavaScript ecosystem experience alongside the Vue.js stack.
