Job title:  Software Engineer for Mobile Applications

Location: Centurion
A large, dynamic, and multidisciplinary engineering company based in Centurion, focussing strongly on providing hardware and software-based security solutions in the ICT industry, is searching for talented developers to join their team.

As Software Engineer for Mobile Applications, you will be responsible for developing security applications for mobile phones (iOS and Android).  This position requires technical investigation and evaluation skills, an understanding of industry standards and good software development practices.

Requirements:

  • B.Eng Computer Engineering degree essential
  • 0 to 4 years experience in software development
  • Good C/C++ programming experience
  • Knowledge related to the building of open source
  • Native development experience/exposure on Android and/or iOS
  • Understand Agile methodologies
  • Understand product release cycles
  • Understand support for mobile applications
  • Good understanding of C, C++, Objective C and Java
  • Keep up to date with mobile and security trends
  • South African citizenship (for security clearance purposes).

Advantageous Skills & Experience (Not essential):

  • Security knowledge, understanding of Computer Networks and Networking Protocols
  • Understanding of Client/Server architecture
  • Systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Adhere to and contribute to good development standards and principles
  • Good Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good testing and development methodologies
  • Exposure to Linux
  • Exposure to FBSD
  • General concepts related to servers and IP infrastructures.
