Job Description
Job title:  Engineering Manager

Team: Development Engineering

Location: Stellenbosch (On-site)
A vacancy is available for a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead 2-3 high-performing teams of software engineers in developing, maintaining and evolving the company’s product suite.

In this position, you will articulate the underlying reasons and objectives, empowering your team to develop software that achieves meaningful business outcomes and enhances customer value.

This role blends technical leadership, people management and process excellence, perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and people.

Education Required:

  • B.Eng Computer Engineering or B.Sc. Computer Science, or higher
  • Leadership/management qualifications are advantageous.

Experience Required:

  • 12+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

Skills Required:

  • Strong background in software development & release processes
  • Proven ability to manage teams, projects and budgets
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of telecoms, networks and internet technologies is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire: Mentor a total of 10–20 engineers to deliver high-quality releases on time.
  • Drive delivery: Translate business priorities into clear goals, unblock challenges and keep the team aligned on outcomes.
  • Build processes: Implement and refine agile development practices, ensuring quality is baked into every release.
  • Support products: Provide technical guidance and triage product support issues with professionalism and speed.
  • Grow talent: Develop individuals through coaching, feedback and career planning, fostering a culture of ownership and learning.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with Product Owners, System Architects and stakeholders to align roadmaps and manage dependencies.
