Job title:  Digital Signal Processing Engineer

Locations: Cape Town (Office Based)
An international aerospace company seeks a Digital Signal Processing Engineer with 4 to 5 years of experience to join its Cape Town team.

Role Description:

As a Digital Signal Processing Engineer, you will be involved and responsible for designing, developing, and optimising advanced digital signal processing algorithms and techniques, which power our innovative products and systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to drive the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership, deliver detailed signal analyses, prototype hardware designs, and communication system assessments via briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues.
  • Conduct research about advanced signal processing, GPS/GNSS technology, and/or re-configurable communication systems.
  • Develop and implement advanced signal processing algorithms, primarily on reconfigurable platforms, for use in GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers, and digital signal processing.
  • Analyse signal processing performance using MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation environments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 4 – 5 years’ or more experience in implementing digital communications and/or DSP algorithms.
  • Experience with integration and testing of communication and/or radar systems.
  • Experience with radar signal processing techniques (e.g., pulse compression, detection processing).
  • Simulation tool experience such as MATLAB, Python, or similar.
  • Own transport essential.
