Job Description
Job title:  Civil Design Engineer (Substations / Infrastructure)

Location: Bellville, Cape Town (On-site, office-based)
A vacancy is available for a Civil Design Engineer to join an engineering consultancy firm that specialises in electrical power systems.

Essential / Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/BScEng)
  • 0 – 2 years of experience or exposure to civil design.

Advantageous Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in civil design
  • Experience in substation design (highly advantageous)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience on Eskom or similar utility projects
  • Knowledge of geotechnical and hydrology inputs.

Responsibilities:

  • Civil design for substations and related infrastructure (earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations)
  • Develop layouts, grading plans, and stormwater designs
  • Coordinate with electrical and structural disciplines
  • Prepare drawings, BOQs, and technical reports
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards.
