Job title:  RF Hardware Engineer

Location: Pretoria (On-site)
A vacancy is available for a Radio Frequency (RF) Hardware Engineer.

In this role, you will handle the design and development of RF system components. As a member of the engineeringcollaborate in an agile environment with hardware engineers and R&D test engineers on long-term international projects. team, you will

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Eng Electronic Engineering degree.
  • 0 – 5 years of hardware development experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and qualify RF power amplifiers.
  • Design and prototype RF components for HF and VHF transceivers.
  • Design digital RF control hardware integrated with RF components.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts following RF-aware guidelines.
  • Test, debug, optimise, and qualify prototype designs.
  • Support the development of qualification, verification, and production testing specifications.

Advantageous Specialised Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in impedance matching and active components.
  • Skilled in RF design, utilising software tools and components.
  • Familiar with RF testing equipment and procedures.
  • Experienced with Python, MATLAB, and embedded controllers.
  • Proficient in PCB design software, particularly Mentor Graphics.
